By no means! By the moon, 32 and by the night when it recedes, 33 And by the dawn when it brightens, 34 Surely it (hell) is one of the gravest (misfortunes), 35 As a warning unto men, 36 to whoever of you desires to go forward or lag behind. 37 Every soul will be (held) in pledge for its deeds. 38 Except those on the right side. 39 In gardens, they shall ask each other 40 About Al-Mujrimun (polytheists, criminals, disbelievers, etc.), (And they will say to them): 41 What has brought you into hell? 42 They will reply, "We did not pray, 43 And did not feed the needy, 44 we indulged in vain arguments along with those who indulged in them; 45 "And used to deny the Day of Justice." 46 till the Certain came to us.' -- 47 The intercession of the intercessors shall then be of no avail to them. 48 Why then do they turn away from the admonition 49 as though they were terrified asses 50 fleeing before a lion? 51 Nay, every man of them desires to be -- given -- scrolls unrolled. 52 No indeed; but they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 Yes indeed, this is an advice. 54 So, whoever wills, will remember it. 55 And they will not remember, except that God wills; He is worthy to be feared, -- worthy to forgive. 56
