Nay; I swear by the moon, 32 And by oath of the night when it turns back. 33 And by the dawn when it brightens, 34 hell is certainly the greatest calamity. 35 A warning unto humankind 36 Whoever of you desires to progress or lag behind. 37 [On the Day of Judgment,] every human being will be held in pledge for whatever [evil] he has wrought 38 Save those who will stand on the right hand. 39 In gardens they will ask one another 40 about the sinners. 41 "What has brought you into hell-fire?" 42 They shall say, 'We were not of those who prayed, and 43 and we did not feed the needy. 44 We plunged in with the plungers 45 And we used to deny the Day of Recompense 46 Till the Inevitable came unto us. 47 So no intercession will avail them. 48 WHAT, THEN, is amiss with them that they turn away from all admonition 49 As though they were asses startled. 50 fleeing before a lion? 51 Indeed, everyone of them desires to have sheets of revelations unfolded before them -- 52 No! But they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 There is no doubt that the Quran is a guide. 54 So whosoever will (let him read it), and receive admonition (from it)! 55 No one will seek guidance unless God wills it. He alone is worthy of being feared and He is the Source of Forgiveness. 56
