Nay, by the Moon 32 by the retreating night, 33 And by the Dawn as it shineth forth,- 34 surely (Hell) is one of the greatest Signs, 35 A warning for people -- 36 A warning unto him of you who shall go forward or who chooseth to lag behind. 37 Every soul is mortgaged for its own deeds. 38 Except the people of the right hand, 39 In Gardens (Paradise) they will ask one another, 40 About Al-Mujrimun (polytheists, criminals, disbelievers, etc.), (And they will say to them): 41 What hath brought you to this burning? 42 They will say: we have not been of those who prayed. 43 Nor did we feed the wretched. 44 “And used to dwell on evil matters with those who think evilly.” 45 "And we used to belie the Day of Recompense 46 until there came to us the certainty. 47 The intercession of the intercessors will be of no benefit to them. 48 WHAT, THEN, is amiss with them that they turn away from all admonition 49 As if they were frightened (wild) donkeys. 50 fleeing from a lion? 51 No indeed; each one of them desires that open letters be sent to each of them. 52 No indeed; but they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 By no means! Verily this Qur'an is an admonition. 54 Let him who will take heed: 55 And they will not receive admonition unless Allah wills; He (Allah) is the One, deserving that mankind should be afraid of, and should be dutiful to Him, and should not take any Ilah (God) along with Him, and He is the One Who forgives (sins). 56
