Nay! By the moon 32 By the night when it withdraweth. 33 And by the dawn when it brightens, 34 Verily, that [hell-fire] is Indeed one of the great [forewarnings] 35 Warn the men. 36 to whoever among you desires to go forward, or lag behind. 37 Every soul will be in captivity for its deeds 38 Except those on the Right, (i.e. the pious true believers of Islamic Monotheism); 39 [dwelling] In gardens [of paradise,] they will inquire 40 about the guilty ones: 41 [And asking them], "What put you into Saqar?" 42 They will answer: We were not of those who prayed 43 And we used not to feed the poor; 44 And we have been wading with the waders. 45 "And we used to belie the Day of Recompense 46 Till the Inevitable came unto us. 47 So no intercession will avail them. 48 What is the matter with people that they are turning away from this Exhortation, 49 As though they were frightened asses 50 Fleeing from a hunter, or a lion, or a beast of prey. 51 Rather, every person among them desires that he would be given scriptures spread about. 52 No! They do not fear the Hereafter -- 53 Nay, verily, this is an admonition 54 Let him who will take heed: 55 And they will not remember except that Allah wills. He is worthy of fear and adequate for [granting] forgiveness. 56
