Nay, by the Moon 32 And by the Night as it retreateth, 33 And by the Dawn as it shineth forth,- 34 surely it is one of the greatest things 35 A warning to mortals, 36 to whoever among you desires to go forward, or lag behind. 37 Every soul will be in captivity for its deeds 38 except the people of the right hand 39 In gardens, they shall ask each other 40 of those who were lost in sin: 41 "What was it that brought you to Hell?" 42 They shall say, 'We were not of those who prayed, and 43 "Nor we used to feed Al-Miskin (the poor); 44 And we have been wading with the waders. 45 and we denied the Day of Judgement 46 "Until there came to us (the death) that is certain." 47 The intercession of the intercessors shall then be of no avail to them. 48 If such will be the Day of Judgment, what is the matter with them? Why do they run away from guidance, 49 As though they were frightened asses 50 running away from a lion? 51 Nay; every one of them desires that he may be given pages spread out; 52 No! They do not fear the Hereafter -- 53 Yes indeed, this is an advice. 54 So whoever pleases may mind it. 55 But they [who do not believe in the life to come] will not take it to heart unless God so wills: [for] He is the Fount of all God-consciousness, and the Fount of all forgiveness. 56
