Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ By the Day of Resurrection, 1 And I call the reprehensive soul to witness: 2 Does man think that We will not assemble his bones? 3 Yea! WE are Able to put together evenly his finger-tips. 4 But man desires to persist in his evil ways. 5 asking, 'When shall be the Day of Resurrection?' 6 But [on that Day,] when the eyesight is by fear confounded, 7 And the moon shall be ecliped. 8 And the sun and the moon will be united. 9 Man will say on that Day, "Where is the [place of] escape?" 10 No, there is no refuge. 11 With your Lord alone will be the retreat on that day. 12 On that day, people will be informed of all that they had done and all that they were supposed to do. 13 nay, but man shall against himself be an eye-witness, 14 Though he may put forth his excuses (to cover his evil deeds). 15 (Muhammad), do not move your tongue too quickly to recite the Quran. 16 Surely its collection and recitation are Our responsibility. 17 When We have recited it, follow its words attentively; 18 It's explanation is upon Us. 19 No! But you love the immediate 20 And leave the Hereafter. 21 [Some] faces, that Day, will be radiant, 22 Looking towards their Lord; 23 And some faces, that Day, will be Basirah (dark, gloomy, frowning, and sad), 24 In the thought that some back-breaking calamity was about to be inflicted on them; 25 Some people, certainly, do not believe in it, but when a person's soul reaches up to his throat 26 and when it is asked: "Could any magician save him now?"; 27 And he will realise that this is the parting. 28 And the leg is wound about the leg, 29 upon that day unto thy Lord shall be the driving. 30
