Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ No! I swear by the Day of Resurrection, 1 and by the self-reproaching soul! 2 Does man think that We cannot [resurrect him and] bring his bones together again? 3 Yea indeed, We are able to make whole his very finger-tips! 4 In fact man wishes to commit evil in front of Him! 5 He asks: When is the day of resurrection? 6 So, when the sight shall be dazed, 7 And the moon is buried in darkness. 8 and the sun and the moon are brought together 9 upon that day man shall say, 'Whither to flee?' 10 By no means! there shall be no place of refuge! 11 Before thy Lord (alone), that Day will be the place of rest. 12 Upon that day man shall be told his former deeds and his latter; 13 In fact man is a witness against himself, 14 even though they make excuses. 15 Move not thy tongue with it to hasten it; 16 We Ourself shall see to its collection and recital. 17 Thus, when We recite it, follow thou its wording [with all thy mind]: 18 We shall be responsible for its explanation. 19 Not [as you think, that you (mankind) will not be resurrected and recompensed for your deeds], but (you men) love the present life of this world, 20 And neglect the Hereafter. 21 Countenances on that Day shall be resplendent, 22 Looking toward their Lord. 23 Others will be despondent, 24 Imagining that there will befall them a waiste-breaking calomity. 25 Nay, but when the life cometh up to the throat 26 and it is said: “Is there any enchanter who can step forward and help (by his chanting)?” 27 and he realises that the hour of parting is come, 28 and leg is intertwined with leg, 29 upon that day unto thy Lord shall be the driving. 30
