Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection. 1 And by oath of the soul that reproaches itself. 2 What, does man reckon We shall not gather his bones? 3 Indeed, We have the power to restore his very finger tips! 4 In fact, people want to have eternal life in this world. 5 He asketh: When will be this Day of Resurrection? 6 But when sight is confounded 7 And the moon shall be ecliped. 8 and the sun and the moon are brought together 9 On that Day man will say: "Where (is the refuge) to flee?" 10 Certainly not! There will be no place of refuge. 11 To your Lord, that Day, is the [place of] permanence. 12 On that day, people will be informed of all that they had done and all that they were supposed to do. 13 He shall be a clear proof against himself, 14 And even if he presents all the excuses he has, none will be listened to. 15 MOVE NOT thy tongue in haste, [repeating the words of the revelation:] 16 Lo! upon Us (resteth) the putting together thereof and the reading thereof. 17 So when We have read it, you should thereupon follow what is read. 18 Then indeed, to explain its details to you is upon Us. 19 But no. You love this transient life, 20 And you have forsaken the Hereafter. 21 On that day, some faces will shine with freshness. 22 looking up to their Sustainer; 23 And (other) faces on that day shall be gloomy, 24 Expecting that there will be done to them [something] backbreaking. 25 But when [man's soul] reaches the throat, 26 and it is said: 'Who is a healing chanter' 27 And he bethinketh that it is the time of parting. 28 And one shank is entangled with the other shank. 29 That Day the Drive will be (all) to thy Lord! 30
