Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection 1 And I do call to witness the self-reproaching spirit: (Eschew Evil). 2 Does man imagine that We will not be able to bring his bones together again? 3 We certainly have the power to restore them even the very tips of their finger. 4 Nay! man desires to give the lie to what is before him. 5 He asks, "When will be the Day of Judgment?" 6 But [on that Day], when mortal sight is confounded, 7 And the moon becomes dark, 8 when the sun and moon are gathered together 9 on that Day the human will ask: 'To (which place) shall I flee' 10 Certainly not! There will be no place of refuge. 11 unto thy Lord that Day is the recourse. 12 That Day will Man be told (all) that he put forward, and all that he put back. 13 But lo, man is well aware of himself, 14 even though he offers his excuses. 15 Move not thy tongue concerning the (Qur'an) to make haste therewith. 16 Surely its collection and recitation are Our responsibility. 17 So when We have read it, you should thereupon follow what is read. 18 And thereafter verily upon us is the expounding thereof. 19 By no means! Verily ye love the Herein. 20 and are oblivious of the Hereafter. 21 Some faces that Day shall be Nadirah (shining and radiant). 22 Waiting for their Lord. 23 and some faces will on that Day be overcast with despair, 24 Thinking that some calamity was about to fall on them; 25 By no means! When it cometh up to the collar-bone. 26 And there will be a cry, "Who is a magician (to restore him)?" 27 And he will realise that this is the parting. 28 and calf is inter-twined with calf. 29 That Day the Drive will be (all) to thy Lord! 30
