Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection; 1 Nay, I swear by the accusing soul (that this Scripture is true). 2 What, does man reckon We shall not gather his bones? 3 Yea! WE are Able to put together evenly his finger-tips. 4 Rather, the human desires to continue in his immorality, 5 asking [derisively,] "When is that Resurrection Day to be?" 6 But [on that Day,] when the eyesight is by fear confounded, 7 and the moon eclipsed, 8 when the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 On that Day shall man say: whither is the fleeing. 10 Never so, for there will be no escape. 11 Unto thy Lord is the recourse that day. 12 Man will be apprised, on that Day, of what he has done and what he has left undone: 13 nay, but man shall against himself be an eye-witness, 14 Even if he presents his excuses. 15 Move not your tongue concerning (the Quran, O Muhammad SAW) to make haste therewith. 16 It is for Us to collect it and to give you (O Muhammad SAW) the ability to recite it (the Quran), 17 When We recite it, follow its recitation. 18 and then, behold, it will be for Us to make its meaning clear. 19 No! But you love the immediate 20 and are heedless of the Everlasting Life. 21 Countenances on that Day shall be resplendent, 22 gazing towards their Lord. 23 and some faces will on that Day be gloomy, 24 Expecting that there will be done to them [something] backbreaking. 25 But, when (the soul) reaches the collar bone 26 And it is said: Who will be a magician? 27 And he (the dying person) will conclude that it was (the time) of departing (death); 28 And affliction is combined with affliction; 29 To your Lord then will be the driving. 30
