Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection 1 Nay, I swear by the accusing soul (that this Scripture is true). 2 What, does man reckon We shall not gather his bones? 3 Yes indeed; We have the power to remould even his finger-tips. 4 Nay, but man desires to continue on as a libertine, 5 He asks: “When will the Day of Resurrection be?” 6 When, then, the sight shall be confounded. 7 the moon eclipsed. 8 and the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 That Day will Man say: "Where is the refuge?" 10 Certainly not! There will be no place of refuge. 11 Unto thy Lord is the recourse that day. 12 On that day, man will be informed of all what he sent ahead and left behind. 13 Oh, but man is a telling witness against himself, 14 even though they make excuses. 15 Move not thy tongue with it to hasten it; 16 We Ourself shall see to its collection and recital. 17 And so when We recite it, follow its recitation attentively; 18 Again on Us (devolves) the explaining of it. 19 Nay; the truth is that you love ardently (the good of this world) that can be obtained hastily, 20 And you have forsaken the Hereafter. 21 (Some) faces on that day shall be bright, 22 Looking towards their Lord; 23 And how many faces on that Day will be woe-begone 24 knowing that a crushing calamity is about to befall them. 25 By no means! When it cometh up to the collar-bone. 26 And it is asked: "Is there any reciter of charms and amulets?" 27 And he is sure that it is the (hour of) parting 28 And affliction is combined with affliction; 29 upon that Day the driving shall be to your Lord. 30
