Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ No! I swear by the Day of Resurrection. 1 And by oath of the soul that reproaches itself. 2 Deemest man that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 Yes. [We are] Able [even] to proportion his fingertips. 4 But man desires to persist in his evil ways. 5 He asks: When is the day of resurrection? 6 But when sight is confounded 7 And the moon shall be ecliped. 8 when the sun and moon are gathered together 9 Man shall say on that day: Whither to fly to? 10 No indeed; not a refuge! 11 Upon that day the recourse shall be to thy Lord. 12 Man will be apprised, on that Day, of what he has done and what he has left undone: 13 Nay, man will be evidence against himself, 14 Though he puts forth his excuses. 15 Stir not thy tongue herewith to hasten it. 16 for, behold, it is for Us to gather it [in thy heart,] and to cause it to be read [as it ought to be read]. 17 When We recite it, follow its recitation (by Us). 18 Again on Us (devolves) the explaining of it. 19 Truly, you love immediate gain 20 and are oblivious of the Hereafter. 21 How many faces will be refulgent on that Day, 22 Looking at their Lord (Allah); 23 And some faces, that Day, will be sad and dismal, 24 Thou wilt know that some great disaster is about to fall on them. 25 Nay; when a man's soul reaches up to the throat, 26 And it is said, "Who will cure [him]?" 27 And he is sure that it is the (hour of) parting 28 And one shank is entangled with the other shank. 29 On that day, the herding will be only towards your Lord. 30
