Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection 1 No! I swear by the reproachful soul! 2 What, does man reckon We shall not gather his bones? 3 We certainly have the power to restore them even the very tips of their finger. 4 But man desires to persist in his evil ways. 5 He asks: "When will the Day of Resurrection be?" 6 but when the sight is dazed 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 And the sun and moon are conjoined, 9 on that Day man will ask, "Where can I escape?" 10 But nay: no refuge [for thee, O man]! 11 Upon that day the recourse shall be to thy Lord. 12 That Day will Man be told (all) that he put forward, and all that he put back. 13 Nay! man is evidence against himself, 14 in spite of all the excuses he may offer. 15 Stir not thy tongue herewith to hasten it. 16 It is for Us to collect it and to give you (O Muhammad SAW) the ability to recite it (the Quran), 17 And when We have recited it to you [O Muhammad SAW through Jibrael (Gabriel)], then follow you its (the Quran's) recital. 18 Then it is for Us (Allah) to make it clear to you, 19 By no means! Verily ye love the Herein. 20 And you have forsaken the Hereafter. 21 Some faces, that Day, will beam (in brightness and beauty);- 22 Looking at their Lord (Allah); 23 Others will be despondent, 24 Expecting that there will be done to them [something] backbreaking. 25 Yea, when (the soul) reaches to the collar-bone (in its exit), 26 and the angels say, "Who will take away his soul, 27 And he will conclude that it was (the Time) of Parting; 28 And one leg will be joined with another: 29 unto thy Lord that Day is the drive. 30
