Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Nay, I swear by the Day of Resurrection; 1 And by oath of the soul that reproaches itself. 2 Does man think that We shall not gather his bones? 3 Yea, verily. We are Able to restore his very fingers! 4 None the less man chooses to deny what lies ahead of him, 5 He asks, "When is the Day of Resurrection?" 6 But when sight is confounded 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 And the sun and moon are joined together,- 9 On that day man will cry: Whither to flee! 10 No, there is no refuge. 11 The only place of refuge will be with God. 12 On that day man is told the tale of that which he hath sent before and left behind. 13 Indeed, man shall be a witness against himself, 14 even though he might make up excuses. 15 Move not thy tongue with it to hasten it; 16 Indeed, upon Us is its collection [in your heart] and [to make possible] its recitation. 17 When We have recited it, follow its words attentively; 18 And thereafter verily upon us is the expounding thereof. 19 None except you, O disbelievers – you love what you have, the fleeting one. 20 And leave alone the Hereafter. 21 Some faces that Day shall be Nadirah (shining and radiant). 22 Looking towards their Lord; 23 And on that day some faces will be ghastly. 24 Expecting that there will be done to them [something] backbreaking. 25 Nay; when a man's soul reaches up to the throat, 26 and it is said: “Is there any enchanter who can step forward and help (by his chanting)?” 27 (the angels of mercy or the angels of wrath,)" then, he will realize that it is time to leave this world. 28 and is enwrapped in the pangs of death 29 To your Lord on that day shall be the driving. 30
