Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection 1 And I swear by the self-reproaching person (a believer). 2 Does man think that We shall not gather his bones? 3 Nay, We are able to put together in perfect order the very tips of his fingers. 4 Yet man is sceptical of what is right before him. 5 He asks: "When will be this Day of Resurrection?" 6 But when sight is confounded 7 the moon eclipsed. 8 And the sun and moon are conjoined, 9 people will say, "Is there anywhere to run away?" 10 No! There is no refuge! 11 The only place of refuge will be with God. 12 Then man will be told what he had sent ahead (of good) and what he had left behind. 13 Nay! Man will be a witness against himself [as his body parts (skin, hands, legs, etc.) will speak about his deeds]. 14 Whatever the excuses he may offer. 15 Move not thy tongue with it to hasten it; 16 Surely its collection and recitation are Our responsibility. 17 So, as We recite it, follow its reading. 18 And thereafter verily upon us is the expounding thereof. 19 Nay, (ye men!) but ye love the fleeting life, 20 and neglect the life to come. 21 Some faces will on that Day be bright with happiness, 22 Looking to their Lord. 23 And on that Day there shall be scowling faces, 24 certain of facing a great calamity. 25 Nay; when a man's soul reaches up to the throat, 26 and it is said, 'Who is an enchanter?' 27 (the angels of mercy or the angels of wrath,)" then, he will realize that it is time to leave this world. 28 And one shank is entangled with the other shank. 29 The drive will be, on that Day, to your Lord (Allah)! 30
