Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Shocker (Al-Qaare'ah) before The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ By the Day of Resurrection, 1 And I swear by the self-reproaching soul. 2 Does man think that We will not assemble his bones? 3 We certainly have the power to restore them even the very tips of their finger. 4 But man wishes to do wrong (even) in the time in front of him. 5 He asks, "When will be the Day of Judgment?" 6 So, when the sight shall be dazed, 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 And the sun and moon will be joined together (by going one into the other or folded up or deprived of their light, etc.) 9 On that Day man will say: "Where (is the refuge) to flee?" 10 By no means! NO refuge! 11 The only place of refuge will be with God. 12 On that day, man will be informed of all what he sent ahead and left behind. 13 He shall be a clear proof against himself, 14 even though they make excuses. 15 O dear Prophet (Mohammed peace and blessings be upon him), do not cause your tongue to move along with the Qur’an in order to learn it faster. 16 It is for Us to collect it and to promulgate it: 17 So, when We recite it, follow thou its recitation. 18 It's explanation is upon Us. 19 But no. You love this transient life, 20 And neglect the Hereafter. 21 Countenances on that Day shall be resplendent, 22 and will be looking towards their Lord; 23 And some faces, that Day, will be Basirah (dark, gloomy, frowning, and sad), 24 Knowing that they will be subjected to a torment that breaks the backs. 25 But when [man's soul] reaches the throat, 26 and when it is asked: "Could any magician save him now?"; 27 And he bethinketh that it is the time of parting. 28 And affliction is combined with affliction; 29 On that Day you will be driven to your Lord. 30
