Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Shocker (Al-Qaare'ah) before The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection 1 And I swear by the reproaching soul [to the certainty of resurrection]. 2 Does man think that We will not assemble his bones? 3 Yes indeed; We are able to shape again his fingers. 4 But man would fain deny what is before him. 5 He asks: When is the day of resurrection? 6 At length, when the sight is dazed, 7 And the moon becomes dark, 8 And the sun and the moon shall be joined. 9 On that day man will cry out, “Where shall I flee?” 10 But nay: no refuge [for thee, O man]! 11 Upon that day the recourse shall be to thy Lord. 12 On that Day, man will be told of all that he has sent before and what he has left behind. 13 Nay, man will be evidence against himself, 14 Though he may put forth his excuses (to cover his evil deeds). 15 Stir not thy tongue herewith to hasten it. 16 It is for Us to collect it and to promulgate it: 17 But when We have promulgated it, follow thou its recital (as promulgated): 18 Nay more, it is for Us to explain it (and make it clear): 19 NAY, but [most of] you love this fleeting life, 20 And leave the Hereafter. 21 Some faces that Day shall be Nadirah (shining and radiant). 22 Looking at their Lord. 23 And countenances on that Day shall be scowling. 24 thou mightest think the Calamity has been wreaked on them. 25 Never so, for when life withdraws into the clavicula, 26 And men say: Where is the wizard (who can save him now)? 27 and he realises that the hour of parting is come, 28 and leg is intertwined with leg, 29 unto thy Lord that Day is the drive. 30

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
