Blessed is He who has placed in the sky great stars and placed therein a [burning] lamp and luminous moon. 61 And it is He Who created the alternation of the night and day for one who wishes to remember or intends to give thanks. 62 For, [true] servants of the Most Gracious are [only] they who walk gently on earth, and who, whenever the foolish address them, reply with [words of] peace; 63 They are those who spend the night worshipping their Lord, prostrating, and standing, 64 And who submit, “Our Lord – avert the punishment of hell from us; indeed its punishment is a permanent neck-shackle.” 65 Verily ill it is as an abode and as a station. 66 and who, whenever they spend on others, are neither wasteful nor niggardly but [remember that] there is always a just mean between those [two extremes]; 67 those who never invoke any other deity besides God, nor take a life which God has made sacred, except with the right to do so, nor commit adultery. Anyone who does that shall face punishment: 68 [but] shall have his suffering doubled on Resurrection Day: for on that [Day] he shall abide in ignominy. 69 Save him who repenteth and believeth and worketh righteous work. Then these! for them Allah shall change their vices into virtues. Verily Allah is ever Forgiving, Merciful. 70 Whosoever repents and does the right, will have turned back to God by way of repentance; 71 And those who do not bear false witness, and when they pass by frivolity, they pass by with dignity; 72 and who when they are reminded of the verses of their Lord, they do not fall down deaf and blind. 73 And those who say, "Our Lord, grant us from among our wives and offspring comfort to our eyes and make us an example for the righteous." 74 Such are the people who will be rewarded with high palaces for their fortitude,, wherein they will be welcomed with due respect, honour and salutations 75 And abide there for ever: What an excellent destination and abode! 76 Say, "What would my Lord care for you if not for your supplication?" For you [disbelievers] have denied, so your denial is going to be adherent. 77
