Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ By the Day of Resurrection, 1 No! I swear by the reproachful soul. 2 Does man think that We will not assemble his bones? 3 Yes indeed; We have the power to remould even his finger-tips. 4 But man would fain deny what is before him. 5 He asketh: When will be this Day of Resurrection? 6 But [on that Day,] when the eyesight is by fear confounded, 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 and the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 On that Day shall man say: whither is the fleeing. 10 But there is nowhere to take refuge: 11 on that Day, to your Lord alone is the recourse. 12 That Day will Man be told (all) that he put forward, and all that he put back. 13 Nay, man will be evidence against himself, 14 Though he may put forth his excuses (to cover his evil deeds). 15 MOVE NOT thy tongue in haste, [repeating the words of the revelation:] 16 It is for Us to collect it and to promulgate it: 17 When We have recited it, follow its words attentively; 18 We shall be responsible for its explanation. 19 Not [as you think, that you (mankind) will not be resurrected and recompensed for your deeds], but (you men) love the present life of this world, 20 and give no thought to the life to come [and to Judgment Day]! 21 How many faces will be refulgent on that Day, 22 and will be looking towards their Lord; 23 And countenances on that Day shall be scowling. 24 Knowing that they will be subjected to a torment that breaks the backs. 25 Yes indeed, when the soul will reach up to the throat. 26 And there will be a cry, "Who is a magician (to restore him)?" 27 And the dying one is certain that it is the [time of] separation 28 And the leg is wound about the leg, 29 The drive will be, on that Day, to your Lord (Allah)! 30
