Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Nay, I swear by the Day of Resurrection; 1 and by the self accusing soul (that you will certainly be resurrected). 2 Does man think that We cannot [resurrect him and] bring his bones together again? 3 We certainly have the power to restore them even the very tips of their finger. 4 Nay! man desires to give the lie to what is before him. 5 he asks, "When is this Day of Resurrection to be?" 6 So when vision is dazzled 7 And the moon will be eclipsed, 8 And the sun and the moon shall be joined. 9 Man shall say on that day: Whither to fly to? 10 No, there shall be no (place of) refuge. 11 On that day, the station is only towards your Lord. 12 Upon that day man shall be told his former deeds and his latter; 13 In fact man is a witness against himself, 14 Although he may put forth his pleas. 15 Move not your tongue concerning (the Quran, O Muhammad SAW) to make haste therewith. 16 We Ourself shall see to its collection and recital. 17 Thus, when We recite it, follow thou its wording [with all thy mind]: 18 It's explanation is upon Us. 19 By no means! Verily ye love the Herein. 20 And leave (neglect) the Hereafter. 21 On the Day of Judgment some faces will be bright, 22 and will be looking towards their Lord; 23 Others will be despondent, 24 In the thought that some back-breaking calamity was about to be inflicted on them; 25 NAY, but when [the last breath] comes up to the throat [of a dying man,] 26 and people ask, "Is there any wizard [that could save him]?" 27 and he knows that it is the time of parting; 28 and calf is inter-twined with calf. 29 Unto thy Lord that day will be the driving. 30
