Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ I do call to witness the Resurrection Day; 1 and by the self-reproaching soul! 2 Does man (a disbeliever) think that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 Yes indeed; We have the power to remould even his finger-tips. 4 Yet man is sceptical of what is right before him. 5 He asketh: When will be this Day of Resurrection? 6 But [on that Day,] when the eyesight is by fear confounded, 7 And the moon will be eclipsed, 8 And sun and moon are united, 9 On that day man will cry out, “Where shall I flee?” 10 But there is nowhere to take refuge: 11 To your Lord, that Day, is the [place of] permanence. 12 On that Day, man will be told of all that he has sent before and what he has left behind. 13 Nay! man is evidence against himself, 14 Whatever the excuses he may offer. 15 Move not your tongue concerning (the Quran, O Muhammad SAW) to make haste therewith. 16 It is for Us to collect it and to promulgate it: 17 Therefore when We have recited it, follow its recitation. 18 Then indeed, to explain its details to you is upon Us. 19 Not [as you think, that you (mankind) will not be resurrected and recompensed for your deeds], but (you men) love the present life of this world, 20 And leave the Hereafter. 21 [Some] faces, that Day, will be radiant, 22 Looking at their Lord. 23 and upon that day faces shall be scowling, 24 Thou wilt know that some great disaster is about to fall on them. 25 Never so, for when life withdraws into the clavicula, 26 And it will be said: "Who can cure him and save him from death?" 27 And the dying one is certain that it is the [time of] separation 28 And leg will be joined with another leg (shrouded) 29 Unto thy Lord that day will be the driving. 30
