Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection. 1 And I call the reprehensive soul to witness: 2 Does man think that We cannot [resurrect him and] bring his bones together again? 3 Yes. [We are] Able [even] to proportion his fingertips. 4 But man would fain deny what is before him. 5 'When will the Day of Resurrection be' he asks, 6 When, then, the sight shall be confounded. 7 And the moon will be eclipsed, 8 And the sun and the moon are joined, 9 on that Day will man say: “Whither the refuge?” 10 No, there shall be no (place of) refuge. 11 Before thy Lord (alone), that Day will be the place of rest. 12 On that day, people will be informed of all that they had done and all that they were supposed to do. 13 Oh, but man is a telling witness against himself, 14 even though he offer his excuses. 15 Move not thy tongue concerning the (Qur'an) to make haste therewith. 16 It is for Us to collect it and to promulgate it: 17 When We recite it, follow its recitation (by Us). 18 Then indeed, to explain its details to you is upon Us. 19 NAY, but [most of] you love this fleeting life, 20 and neglect the Hereafter. 21 Upon that day faces shall be radiant, 22 Looking toward their Lord; 23 And on that Day there shall be scowling faces, 24 dreading some great affliction. 25 Nay, but when the life cometh up to the throat 26 And it is cried. who can charm? 27 the while he [himself] knows that this is the parting, 28 And anguish will be heaped upon anguish: 29 To your Lord, that Day, will be the procession. 30
