The Human (Al-Insan)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
There was certainly a time when there was no mention of the human being. 1 Verily We! We created man from a sperm of mixtures, that We might prove him, wherefore We made him hearing, seeing. 2 Surely We have shown him the way: he may be thankful or unthankful. 3 We have prepared for unbelievers chains and collars and a blazing fire. 4 As to the Righteous, they shall drink of a Cup (of Wine) mixed with Kafur,- 5 From a fountain whence the bondmen of Allah will drink, causing it to gush abundantly. 6 They (are those who) fulfill (their) vows, and they fear a Day whose evil will be wide-spreading. 7 And they give food in spite of love for it to the needy, the orphan, and the captive, 8 They say to them, “We give you food, only for the sake of Allah – we do not seek any reward or thanks from you.” 9 for we fear from our Lord a stern, frownful Day' 10 So Allah will protect them from the evil of that Day and give them radiance and happiness 11 And because they were patient and constant, He will reward them with a Garden and (garments of) silk. 12 Reclining therein upon couches, they will find there neither (heat of) a sun nor bitter cold. 13 And close down upon them (shall be) its shadows, and its fruits shall be made near (to them), being easy to reach. 14 And brought round amongst them will be vessels of silver and also goblets of glass. 15 (Transparent as) glass, made of silver; they have measured them according to a measure. 16 And in that [paradise] they will be given to drink of a cup flavoured with ginger, 17 From a spring by the name of Ever-flowing-Salsabil. 18 ۞ Immortal youths shall go about them; when thou seest them, thou supposest them scattered pearls, 19 And when thou lookest them thou shalt behold delight and a dominion magnificent. 20 They will have fine green silk and brocade, and they will be decked with bracelets of silver. Their Lord will provide them with a drink of pure wine. 21 This will be their reward and their efforts will be appreciated. 22
