In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By (the wind) those sent (as horses') mane (in succession), 1 Which then blow violently in tempestuous Gusts, 2 And scatter (things) far and wide; 3 Then separate them one from another, 4 by those who bring down the reminder, 5 To cut off all excuses or to warn; 6 Surely that which ye are promised will befall. 7 So when the stars are made to lose their light, 8 And when the heaven is rent asunder, 9 when the mountains shall be scattered 10 And when the messengers are (all) appointed a time (to collect);- 11 For what Day was it postponed? 12 To the Day of Judgement. 13 And what knowest thou what the Day of Decision is? 14 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 15 Did We not destroy the ancients? 16 So shall We make later (generations) follow them. 17 As such shall We deal with the sinners. 18 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 19 Created We you not of water despicable, 20 and place it in a secure place 21 For a known calculated term. 22 We determined; excellent determiners are We. 23 Ah woe, that Day! to the Rejecters of Truth! 24 Have We not made the earth a housing 25 For the living and the dead, 26 and did We not firmly fix towering mountains on it and give you sweet water to drink? 27 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 28 "Go to what you used to deny; 29 Proceed to a shadow rising in three columns: 30 unshading against the blazing flame 31 Indeed, it throws sparks [as huge] as a fortress, 32 "As if there were (a string of) yellow camels (marching swiftly)." 33 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 34 That will be the Day on which they will not (be able to) utter a word, 35 nor will they be allowed to proffer excuses. 36 On that day, woe would be those who have rejected God's revelations! 37 This is the Day of Decision, We have assembled both ye and the ancients. 38 Now, if ye have a trick (or plot), use it against Me! 39 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 40

عند قراءة القرآن الملون في وضعية اللغة العربية المرسومة بالأحرف الإنجليزية، قد لا تلاحظ وجود منظومة برمجية مصممة لمطابقة متطلبات علامات الوقف في النص العربي الأصلي. فكما تعلم، يحتوي القرآن على خمسة أنواع رئيسية من علامات الوقف. (1) وقف لازم، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي نقطة وقف. (2) وقف جائز مع الوقف أولى، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال الثلثين. (3) وقف جائز مع تساوي أولوية الوقف والوصل، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال النصف للنصف. (4) وقف جائز مع الوصل أولى، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال الثلث. When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
