Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the winds sent forth in swift succession, 1 storming tempestuously 2 and the rain-spreading winds, 3 by (the angels) who make a clear distinction between right and wrong 4 And those winds that bring down the remembrance. 5 To clear or to warn. 6 Assuredly, what ye are promised must come to pass. 7 So when the stars are made to lose their light, 8 And when the heaven is cleft asunder; 9 And when the mountains are made into dust and blown away. 10 and when the Messengers' time is set, 11 For what Day are these signs postponed? 12 To the Day of Judgement. 13 And what can make you know what is the Day of Judgement? 14 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 15 Did We not destroy the ancient people 16 and let the latter follow them? 17 thus do We deal with the culprits. 18 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 19 Did We not create you from a liquid disdained? 20 Which We placed in a depository safe. 21 For a known term? 22 We determined, how excellent a Determiner are We! 23 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 24 Did We not make the earth as a gathering place 25 for the living and for the dead? 26 Have We not placed high mountains upon it and filled you with sweet water? 27 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 28 Proceed to that (the Day of Judgment) which you have rejected. 29 Depart unto the shadow falling threefold, 30 unshading against the blazing flame 31 that shoots sparks like dry faggots, 32 which seem as though they are yellow-coloured camels. 33 On that day, woe would be upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 34 This is the Day they shall not speak, 35 Nor shall they be permitted so that they might excuse themselves. 36 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 37 Such is the Day of Decision. We will gather you with the ancients. 38 If now ye have any wit, outwit Me. 39 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 40
