Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the (Winds) sent forth one after another (to man's profit); 1 and then storming on with a tempest's force! 2 by the scatterers scattering 3 And those [angels] who bring criterion 4 Then spread abroad a Message, 5 to excuse some and warn others: 6 that whatever with which you have been warned will inevitably come to pass. 7 Then when the stars lose their lights; 8 Heavens will rent asunder. 9 And when the mountains are blown away; 10 and when the messengers are brought together at the appointed time -- 11 For what Day are these signs postponed? 12 one will be told, "To the Day of Distinction". 13 How will you comprehend what the Day of Judgement is? 14 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 15 Did We not destroy the ancients, 16 and then follow them with the later folk? 17 Thus do We deal with men of sin. 18 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 19 Have We not created you from a fluid (held) despicable?- 20 which We then let remain in [the womb's] firm keeping 21 For a known term? 22 For We do determine (according to need); for We are the best to determine (things). 23 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle 25 The living and the dead, 26 and have We not set on it proud, firm mountains, and given you sweet water to drink? 27 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 28 "Go to what you used to deny; 29 proceed towards the three-pronged shadow, 30 Neither having the coolness of the shade nor availing against the flame. 31 Indeed hell throws up sparks like huge castles. 32 like giant fiery ropes! 33 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 34 This is the Day they shall not speak, 35 Nor will they be given permission to present excuses. 36 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 37 This is the Day of Decision, We have assembled both ye and the ancients. 38 If now ye have any craft, try that craft upon Me. 39 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 40
