Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
CONSIDER these [messages,] sent forth in waves 1 By the raging hurricanes, 2 And [by] the winds that spread [clouds] 3 By those who winnow with a winnowing, 4 and those hurling a reminder 5 excusing or warning, 6 Surely that which ye are promised will befall. 7 So when the lights of the stars are put out. 8 when heaven shall be split 9 And when the mountains are blown away; 10 And when the messengers are brought unto their time appointed - 11 For what day has the term [of all this] been set? 12 To the day of decision. 13 And what shall teach thee what is the Day of Decision? 14 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 15 Destroyed We not the former folk, 16 So shall We make later (generations) follow them. 17 Thus do We deal with men of sin. 18 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 19 Did We not create you from a humble fluid, 20 Then We placed it in a place of safety (womb), 21 for a term pre-ordained? 22 So We did measure, and We are the Best to measure (the things). 23 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle? 25 The living and the dead, 26 And made therein lofty mountains, and given you to drink of sweet water? 27 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 28 "Go to what you used to deny; 29 Depart into the shadow of three masses, 30 [But having] no cool shade and availing not against the flame." 31 Indeed, it throws sparks [as huge] as a fortress, 32 (Or) as it might be camels of bright yellow hue. 33 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 34 that Day on which they will not [be able to] utter a word, 35 nor shall they be given permission, so that they can apologize. 36 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 37 Such is the Day of Decision. We will gather you with the ancients. 38 If now ye have any craft, try that craft upon Me. 39 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 40
