Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the (Winds) sent forth one after another (to man's profit); 1 By the raging hurricanes, 2 and the rain-spreading winds, 3 And the scattering winds scattering. 4 and by those who reveal revelations (to the prophets) 5 [promising] freedom from blame or [offering] a warning! 6 Surely, what you are promised must come to pass. 7 So when the stars are obliterated 8 And when the heaven is cloven asunder. 9 and when the mountains are scattered like dust, 10 and when the messengers are brought together at the appointed time -- 11 For what Day are these (portents) deferred? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 And what will convey unto thee what the Day of Decision is! - 14 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 15 Did We not destroy the earlier peoples? 16 So shall We make later (generations) follow them. 17 Thus do We deal with the sinful ones. 18 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 19 Created We you not of water despicable, 20 Then We placed it in a place of safety (womb), 21 till a known term decreed? 22 See that We had the power to do so. Great indeed is Our power to do what We will. 23 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 24 Have We not made the earth a container 25 The living and the dead, 26 Have We not placed high mountains upon it and given you fresh water to drink? 27 On that Day (of Judgment) woe would be upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 28 Depart to that you cried was lies! 29 Proceed to a shadow [of smoke] having three columns 30 Neither having the coolness of the shade nor availing against the flame. 31 The fire will shoot out sparks as big as huge towers 32 "As if there were (a string of) yellow camels (marching swiftly)." 33 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 34 That will be the Day on which they will not (be able to) utter a word, 35 neither be given leave, and excuse themselves. 36 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 37 That will be the Day of Reckoning. Gathered will be (you) and the earlier (generations). 38 If you are cunning, then try your cunning against Me! 39 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 40
