Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the winds (or angels or the Messengers of Allah) sent forth one after another. 1 And those that strike violently, 2 and the rain-spreading winds, 3 and the severally severing 4 and by those who reveal revelations (to the prophets) 5 Whether of Justification or of Warning;- 6 Indeed what you are promised, will surely befall. 7 So when the stars are put out, 8 And when the sky is split apart. 9 And when the mountains are carried away as dust, 10 And when the apostles are gathered at their appointed time 11 For what day is it timed? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 And what could make thee conceive what that Day of Distinction will be? 14 Woe on that day unto the beliers 15 Did We not destroy the ancients 16 And We shall let them be followed by those of later times: 17 Thus do We deal with the Mujrimun (polytheists, disbelievers, sinners, criminals, etc.)! 18 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 19 Did We not create you from an abject fluid? 20 Then We lodged you in a secure place (the womb) 21 For a known extent. 22 We then calculated; so how excellently do We control! 23 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 24 Have We not made the earth to draw together to itself, 25 The living and the dead, 26 Have We not placed high mountains upon it and filled you with sweet water? 27 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 28 [They will be told], "Proceed to that which you used to deny. 29 “Move towards the shadow of the smoke having three branches.” 30 "Neither shading, nor of any use against the fierce flame of the Fire." 31 Indeed, it throws sparks [as huge] as a fortress, 32 and as bright as a herd of yellow camels. 33 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 34 This is the Day they shall not speak, 35 neither be given leave, and excuse themselves. 36 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 37 Such is the Day of Decision. We will gather you with the ancients. 38 If you now have any conspiracy, carry it out on Me. 39 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 40
