But the leaders of his people who denied the truth and denied the Meeting in the Hereafter, because We had granted them ease and plenty in their worldly life, said, "This is only a human being like yourselves, he eats what you eat, and drinks what you drink, 33 “If you were to obey a human like yourselves, then surely you are losers!” 34 What! does he threaten you that when you are dead and become dust and bones that you shall then be brought forth? 35 ۞ Such a promise will never come true. 36 There is only the life of this world: We die and we live: there is no rising from the dead for us. 37 He is but a man who hath fabricated against God a lie, and in him we are not going to be believers. 38 He said: my Lord! vindicate for they belie me. 39 [Allah] said, "After a little, they will surely become regretful." 40 So the punishment overtook them in justice, and We made them as rubbish; so away with the unjust people. 41 AND AFTER them We gave rise to new generations: 42 No people can hasten on their doom nor can they postpone (it). 43 And We sent forth Our apostles, one after another: [and] every time their apostle came to a community, they gave him the lie: and so We caused them to follow one another [into the grave,] and let them become [mere] tales: and so - away with the folk who would not believe! 44 Thereafter We sent Musa and his brother Harun with Our signs and an authority manifest. 45 Unto Fir'awn and his chiefs, but they grew stiff-necked, and they were a people self-exalting. 46 And they said: Shall we put faith in two mortals like ourselves, and whose folk are servile unto us? 47 So they denied them and were of those destroyed. 48 We gave Moses the Book so that they might be guided. 49 And We made the son of Marium and his mother a sign, and We gave them a shelter on a lofty ground having meadows and springs. 50
