In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the (winds) sent forth in quick succession, 1 By the raging hurricanes, 2 By the spreading winds spreading. 3 separating one from another, 4 And by the angels that bring the revelations to the Messengers, 5 [promising] freedom from blame or [offering] a warning! 6 Surely, what you are promised must come to pass. 7 So when the lights of the stars are put out. 8 when heaven shall be split 9 and when the mountains crumble into dust 10 And when the apostles are gathered at their appointed time 11 For what Day are these (portents) deferred? 12 For the Day of sorting out (the men of Paradise from the men destined for Hell). 13 And what shall teach thee what is the Day of Decision? 14 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 15 Did We not destroy the ancient people 16 So shall We make later generations to follow them. 17 As such shall We deal with the sinners. 18 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 19 Did We not create you from a liquid disdained? 20 Which We placed in a depository safe. 21 For a known extent. 22 We then calculated; so how excellently do We control! 23 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle. 25 for the living and for the dead? 26 And placed in it lofty and broad stablisers, and gave you sweet water to drink? 27 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 28 Proceed now towards that which you were wont to deny as false; 29 “Move towards the shadow of the smoke having three branches.” 30 “Which neither gives shade, nor saves from the flame.” 31 The fire will shoot out sparks as big as huge towers 32 Seeming like yellow camels. 33 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 34 This is a Day they will not speak, 35 nor shall they be given permission, so that they can apologize. 36 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 37 That will be a Day of Sorting out! We shall gather you together and those before (you)! 38 If now you have any strategy, use it against Me. 39 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 40
