Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
CONSIDER these [messages,] sent forth in waves 1 and then storming on with a tempest's force, 2 and by the scatterers scattering (rain) 3 And those [angels] who bring criterion 4 Then spread abroad a Message, 5 to excuse some and warn others: 6 Indeed what you are promised, will surely befall. 7 Then when the stars lose their lights; 8 When the heaven is cleft asunder; 9 and when the mountains crumble into dust 10 And when the Messengers are gathered to their time appointed; 11 For what day is it timed? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 And what could make thee conceive what that Day of Distinction will be? 14 Woe on that day unto the beliers 15 Did We not destroy the former generations? 16 Then did We follow them up with later ones. 17 In this wise We do with the culprits. 18 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 19 Did We not create you from a liquid disdained? 20 And We placed it in a firm lodging 21 Till an appointed term, 22 And We determined [it], and excellent [are We] to determine. 23 On that day, woe would be upon those who have rejected the revelations of God! 24 Have We not made the earth a container 25 for the living and for the dead? 26 And We placed high mountains as anchors in it and gave you sweet water to drink. 27 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 28 (It will be said:) "Depart ye to that which ye used to reject as false! 29 “Move towards the shadow of the smoke having three branches.” 30 "Neither shading, nor of any use against the fierce flame of the Fire." 31 and throwing up sparks as huge as towers 32 and as bright as a herd of yellow camels. 33 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 34 This is a Day they will not speak, 35 nor will they be permitted to offer any excuses. 36 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth 37 That will be a Day of Sorting out! We shall gather you together and those before (you)! 38 So if you have any ploy, try it against Me! 39 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 40
