Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the emissary winds, (sent) one after another 1 by (the angels) as swift as blowing winds, 2 And [by] the winds that spread [clouds] 3 and the severally severing 4 Then I swear by the angels who bring down the revelation, 5 [promising] freedom from blame or [offering] a warning! 6 BEHOLD, all that you are told to expect will surely come to pass. 7 When the stars shall be extinguished, 8 And when the heaven is rent asunder, 9 and the mountains are blown away, 10 and when all the apostles are called together at a time appointed... 11 For what day is the time appointed? 12 For the Day of Distinction [between the true and the false]! 13 And what do you know, what the Day of Decision is! 14 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth. 15 Destroyed We not the former folk, 16 So shall We make later (generations) follow them. 17 In this wise We do with the culprits. 18 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 19 Did We not create you from a base fluid 20 We then kept it in a safe place. 21 For a certain appointed time, 22 Thus We have determined the stages of development and Our power to determine is excellent indeed. 23 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 24 Have We not made the earth to draw together to itself, 25 For the living and the dead, 26 And made therein mountains standing firm, lofty (in stature); and provided for you water sweet (and wholesome)? 27 On that Day (of Judgment) woe would be upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 28 Proceed to that which you denied. 29 Proceed to a shadow rising in three columns: 30 affording neither shade, nor protection from the flames, 31 and throwing up sparks as huge as towers 32 as black camels. 33 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 34 This is the day they shall not speak 35 And permission shall not be given to them so that they should offer excuses. 36 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 37 This is the Day of Decision, We have brought you and the men of old together. 38 If now you have any strategy, use it against Me. 39 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 40
