Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
I CALL TO WITNESS those who are sent consecutively, 1 Then by oath of those that push with a strong gust. 2 and raise (clouds) and scatter them around, 3 And those that distinguish distinctly, 4 And those winds that bring down the remembrance. 5 to excuse some and warn others: 6 What is promised will surely come to pass. 7 When the stars shall be extinguished, 8 and when the sky is rent asunder 9 And when the mountains are blown away 10 and when the messengers are brought together at the appointed time -- 11 For what day is that time fixed? 12 For the Day of Distinction [between the true and the false]! 13 And what do you know, what the Day of Decision is! 14 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 15 Destroyed We not the ancients? 16 Then did We follow them up with later ones. 17 thus do We deal with the culprits. 18 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 19 Did We not create you from contemptible water? 20 which We placed within a sure lodging 21 For a certain appointed time, 22 We determined, how excellent a Determiner are We! 23 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 24 Have We not made the earth to draw together to itself, 25 Both for the living and the dead, 26 And made therein lofty mountains, and given you to drink of sweet water? 27 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 28 GO ON towards that [resurrection] which you were wont to call a lie! 29 "Depart you to a shadow (of Hell-fire smoke ascending) in three columns, 30 affording neither shade, nor protection from the flames, 31 Verily it shall cast forth sparks like unto a castle. 32 like giant fiery ropes! 33 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 34 That will be a Day when they shall not be able to speak. 35 nor will they be allowed to proffer excuses. 36 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 37 This is the Day of Decision; We have gathered you and all the earlier men. 38 If now ye have any wit, outwit Me. 39 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 40
