Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
50 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah) before Q (Qaaf)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
CONSIDER these [messages,] sent forth in waves 1 storming tempestuously 2 And [by] the winds that spread [clouds] 3 by (the angels) who make a clear distinction between right and wrong 4 Then spread abroad a Message, 5 To clear or to warn. 6 surely, that which you have been promised is about to fall! 7 Then the stars will lose their light. 8 Heavens will rent asunder. 9 The mountains will be blown away as dust. 10 and when the messengers are brought together at the appointed time -- 11 For what Day are these signs postponed? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 And what will make you comprehend what the day of decision is? 14 Woe on that day unto the beliers 15 Did We not destroy the ancients 16 Then did We follow them up with later ones. 17 That is what We shall do to those who are guilty of crime. 18 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 19 Created We you not of water despicable, 20 And We placed it in a firm lodging 21 For a known extent. 22 We determined; excellent determiners are We. 23 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 24 Have We not made the earth (as a place) to draw together. 25 the living and the dead? 26 And have placed therein firm, and tall mountains; and have given you to drink sweet water? 27 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 28 'Depart unto that which ye were wont to belie. 29 Proceed to that shadow, rising in three columns 30 (Which yet is) no relief nor shelter from the flame. 31 It will throw out sparks as logs of wood 32 So like golden camels." 33 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 34 That will be a Day when they shall not be able to speak. 35 neither be given leave, and excuse themselves. 36 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 37 This is the day of decision: We have gathered you and those of yore. 38 If you are cunning, then try your cunning against Me! 39 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 40
