The News (Al-Naba')
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej) before The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ What are they questioning each other about? 1 About the great news, (i.e. Islamic Monotheism, the Quran, which Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) brought and the Day of Resurrection, etc.), 2 concerning which they have disputes. 3 (What they think is certainly despicable!). They will soon come to know (the reality). 4 Nay, again, they will come to know! 5 Have We not made the earth an expanse. 6 and the mountains as pegs? 7 And We created you in pairs 8 And made your sleep a rest. 9 made the night as a covering, 10 and We made the day for a livelihood. 11 and built above you seven strong firmaments, 12 And We made a shining lamp, 13 And do We not send down from the clouds water in abundance, 14 In order to produce grain and plants with it. 15 And gardens of thick growth. 16 Indeed, the Day of Decision is an appointed time, 17 The Day when the Trumpet will be blown, and you shall come forth in crowds (groups); 18 And the heaven is opened and becometh as gates, 19 and the mountains will be set in motion and become a mirage. 20 Indeed, Hell has been lying in wait 21 It will be a place of return 22 where they shall remain for ages, 23 They will not taste therein cool or any drink. 24 except boiling water and pus, 25 An appropriate recompense. 26 For indeed they did not look forward to any reckoning, 27 and they rejected outright Our signs; 28 But all things We have enumerated in writing. 29 'Taste! We shall not increase you except in punishment' 30

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
