The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By those [angels] who extract with violence 1 And [by] those who remove with ease 2 and by [the clouds] that swim serenely and 3 by those that outstrip them suddenly, 4 by the managers (angels) affair. 5 On the day when the first trumpet sound blasts 6 and the second blast follows it, 7 hearts upon that day shall be athrob 8 and eyes will be humbly cast down. 9 They say (now): "What! shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state? 10 Even if we should be decayed bones? 11 [And] they add, "That, then, would be a return with loss!" 12 However, it will only take a single blast 13 and lo, they will all be in the open plain. 14 (Muhammad), have you heard the story of Moses 15 When his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa. 16 Saying: go thou unto Fir'awn; verily he hath waxen exorbitant. 17 "And say to him, 'Wouldst thou that thou shouldst be purified (from sin)?- 18 Then I shall guide thee unto thy Lord so that thou shalt fear. 19 And he showed him the tremendous token. 20 But (the Pharaoh) disavowed and disobeyed. 21 Then he went back hastily. 22 So he gathered the people, and proclaimed. 23 and proclaimed, "I am your supreme Lord," 24 Thereupon Allah seized him for the chastisement of the World to Come as well as of the present. 25 In this there is a lesson for those who have fear of God. 26
