The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the angels who drag forth vehemently. 1 By those (angels) who gently take out (the souls of the believers); 2 And those who glide swimmingly, 3 and the outstrippers (angels), outstripping, 4 by the managers (angels) affair. 5 On the Day, the shiverer shivers 6 And there will follow it the next blast. 7 Hearts, that Day, will tremble, 8 [and] their eyes downcast... 9 They say: “Shall we indeed be restored to life, 10 “When we have become decayed bones?” 11 They say, "That, then, would be a losing return." 12 But it shall be only a single scare, 13 When lo! they shall be wakeful. 14 HAS THE STORY of Moses ever come within thy ken. 15 His Lord called out to him by the sacred valley of Tuwa: 16 Go to Fir'aun (Pharaoh), verily, he has transgressed all bounds (in crimes, sins, polytheism, disbelief, etc.). 17 “Tell him ‘Do you have the inclination to become pure?’ 18 Then I will guide you to your Lord that you may come to fear Him.'" 19 So Moosa showed him a magnificent sign. 20 But Pharaoh denied and disobeyed. 21 then he turned away hastily, 22 And assembled (his council) and proclaimed, 23 then said: 'I am your lord, the most high' 24 So Allah seized him with the punishment of the Everlasting Life, and of this world. 25 Most surely there is in this a lesson to him who fears. 26
