The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By those that pluck out vehemently 1 By those (angels) who gently take out (the souls of the believers); 2 And by those that swim along (i.e. angels or planets in their orbits, etc.). 3 by the angels who hasten along 4 And then they manage the affair, 5 On the day when the first trumpet sound blasts 6 and the second blast follows it, 7 Many a heart will flutter on that day! 8 Their eyes cast down. 9 They say: shall we indeed be restored to the first state, 10 even after we are fragmented bones' 11 They say: "It would in that case, be a return with loss!" 12 So that is not but a single shout. 13 When, behold, they will be in the (full) awakening (to Judgment). 14 (Muhammad), have you heard the story of Moses 15 His Lord called out to him by the sacred valley of Tuwa: 16 saying 'Go to Pharaoh, he has become exceedingly insolent, 17 And say to him, 'Would you [be willing to] purify yourself 18 ‘And I may guide you to your Lord, so that you may fear.’” 19 And he showed him the tremendous token. 20 But (Pharaoh) rejected it and disobeyed (guidance); 21 Then turned he away in haste, 22 then he mustered 23 Then he said: I am your lord, the most high. 24 And thereupon God took him to task, [and made him] a warning example in the life to come as well as in this world. 25 Surely, in this there is a lesson for he that fears! 26
