The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By those that pluck out vehemently 1 And by those who gently draw out the souls of the blessed, 2 And [by] those who glide [as if] swimming 3 by those that outstrip them suddenly, 4 Then arrange to do (the Commands of their Lord), 5 The day the convulsive (first blast) shatters convulsively 6 and will be followed by another quaking. 7 Hearts, that Day, will tremble, 8 and their eyes will be humbled. 9 They say, "What? shall we be brought back to life, 10 What, when we are bones old and wasted?' 11 They have said, "Such a resurrection will certainly be a great loss". 12 However, it will only take a single blast 13 and lo, they will all be in the open plain. 14 Did the news of Moosa reach you? 15 When his Lord called to him in the holy valley, Towa: 16 (Saying:) Go thou unto Pharaoh - Lo! he hath rebelled - 17 “Tell him ‘Do you have the inclination to become pure?’ 18 And let me guide you to your Lord so you would fear [Him]?'" 19 Moses showed him the great miracle 20 but he denied it and refused [the faith]. 21 and hastily turned away, 22 and gathered his people and declared: 23 and proclaimed, and he said, 'I am your Lord, the Most High!' 24 So Allah, seized him with punishment for his last [i.e. his saying: "I am your lord, most high") (see Verse 79:24)] and first [(i.e. his saying, "O chiefs! I know not that you have a god other than I" (see Verse 28:38)] transgression. 25 Indeed in this is a lesson for one who fears. 26
