The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By those (angels) who pull out (the souls of the disbelievers and the wicked) with great violence; 1 By those who gently draw out (the souls of the blessed); 2 And by those who glide along (on errands of mercy), 3 Then press forward as in a race, 4 And by those angels who arrange to do the Commands of their Lord, (so verily, you disbelievers will be called to account). 5 On the day when the trembling one will tremble. (The disbelievers will certainly taste the punishment.) 6 to be followed by further [convulsions], 7 On that day hearts beat painfully 8 Cast down will be (their owners') eyes. 9 (The disbelievers) say, "Shall we be brought back to life again 10 What! when we are rotten bones? 11 and they say, "That indeed would be a losing return." 12 So that is not but a single shout. 13 And lo! they all shall appear on the surface. 14 Hath there come unto thee the history of Moses? 15 Recall what time his Lord called unto him in the holy vale of Tuwa. 16 "Go thou to Pharaoh for he has indeed transgressed all bounds: 17 And say to him, "Would you like to reform yourself? 18 Do you want me to guide you to your Lord, so that you should fear Him?'" 19 Moses showed him the great sign, 20 But (the Pharaoh) disavowed and disobeyed. 21 and brusquely turned his back [on Moses]; 22 Then he gathered (men) and called out. 23 And he said: I am your Lord, most high. 24 So Allah seized him with the punishment of the hereafter and the former life. 25 Verily herein is lesson for him who feareth. 26
