The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By those [angels] who extract with violence 1 By those (angels) who gently take out (the souls of the believers); 2 And by those who glide along (on errands of mercy), 3 by those that outstrip them suddenly, 4 And who plan the implementation. 5 A Day shall come whereon the quaking will quake, 6 There will follow it the subsequent [one]. 7 On that Day will [men's] hearts be throbbing, 8 Their looks will be downcast. 9 They say, "What? shall we be brought back to life, 10 When we have become bones decayed! 11 They say: "It would in that case, be a return with loss!" 12 It will be only one scaring shout, 13 and behold, they are awakened. 14 Has not there come to you the story of Musa? 15 When his Lord called to him in Tuwa's holy vale? 16 [saying], "Go to Pharaoh, he has exceeded all bounds, 17 And say to him: "Would you purify yourself (from the sin of disbelief by becoming a believer)", 18 I shall guide you to your Lord so that you may perhaps have fear of Him". 19 Then did (Moses) show him the Great Sign. 20 But (the Pharaoh) disavowed and disobeyed. 21 Then he went back hastily. 22 and gathered his people together 23 And proclaimed: "I (Pharaoh) am your Lord the Highest." 24 So Allah, seized him with punishment for his last [i.e. his saying: "I am your lord, most high") (see Verse 79:24)] and first [(i.e. his saying, "O chiefs! I know not that you have a god other than I" (see Verse 28:38)] transgression. 25 Verily in this is an instructive warning for whosoever feareth (Allah). 26
