The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By those (angels) that pluck out the soul from depths, 1 By those (angels) who gently take out (the souls of the believers); 2 And by those who float in space, 3 Then outpace the others swiftly 4 and thus they fulfil the [Creator's] behest! 5 A Day shall come whereon the quaking will quake, 6 and will be followed by another quaking. 7 Hearts on that Day will be throbbing; 8 Their eyes cast down. 9 They say: shall we indeed be restored to the first state, 10 When we have become bones decayed! 11 They say: "It would in that case, be a return with loss!" 12 But only, it will be a single Zajrah [shout (i.e., the second blowing of the Trumpet)]. (See Verse 37:19). 13 And they will wake up suddenly. 14 Has the story of Moses reached thee? 15 When his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa. 16 "Go to the Pharaoh who has become refractory, 17 and say: "Will you purify yourself, 18 And I will guide you to your Lord so that you should fear. 19 Moses showed him the great sign, 20 Yet he belied and disobeyed. 21 Then he turned away in a hurry, 22 then he mustered 23 Saying: "I am alone your lord, the highest of them all." 24 So Allah, seized him with punishment for his last [i.e. his saying: "I am your lord, most high") (see Verse 79:24)] and first [(i.e. his saying, "O chiefs! I know not that you have a god other than I" (see Verse 28:38)] transgression. 25 Verily, in this is an instructive admonition for whosoever fears Allah. 26
