The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
I CALL TO WITNESS those who dive and drag, 1 and those that blow gently, 2 and by [the clouds] that swim serenely and 3 and vie with the others (in carrying out their Lord's behests); 4 And those who govern the event, 5 On the Day when a violent convulsion will convulse [the world], 6 There will follow it the subsequent [one]. 7 hearts will undergo terrible trembling, 8 and their eyes shall be humbled. 9 (The disbelievers) say, "Shall we be brought back to life again 10 "Even after we are crumbled bones?" 11 They said, “So this return is an obvious loss!” 12 But only, it will be a single Zajrah [shout (i.e., the second blowing of the Trumpet)]. (See Verse 37:19). 13 So they will immediately be in an open plain. 14 Have you heard the story of Moses? 15 When his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa. 16 and directed him: “Go to Pharaoh, he has rebelled, 17 And say to him: "Would you purify yourself (from the sin of disbelief by becoming a believer)", 18 And I will guide you to your Lord so that you should fear. 19 Moses showed him the great sign, 20 But [Fir'aun (Pharaoh)] belied and disobeyed; 21 Then turned he away in haste, 22 and then he gathered [his great ones,] and called [unto his people,] 23 And said, "I am your most exalted lord." 24 you pay attention 25 Surely in that is a lesson for him who fears! 26
