The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the angels who drag forth vehemently. 1 By those who gently draw out (the souls of the blessed); 2 And those who glide swimmingly, 3 And by those that press forward as in a race (i.e. the angels or stars or the horses, etc.). 4 And those who arrange [each] matter, 5 On the day when the first trumpet sound blasts 6 Followed by the second blast, 7 Hearts that Day will be in agitation; 8 and their eyes will be humbled. 9 [And yet,] some say: "What! Are we indeed to be restored to our former state 10 What! when we are rotten bones? 11 They have said, "Such a resurrection will certainly be a great loss". 12 Surely it will need but one shout, 13 and behold, they are awakened. 14 Did the news of Moosa reach you? 15 When his Lord called to him in Tuwa's holy vale? 16 (Saying:) Go thou unto Pharaoh - Lo! he hath rebelled - 17 and say, 'Will you reform yourself? 18 that I may direct you to your Lord and then you hold Him in awe?'” 19 He showed him the mighty sign, 20 but the Pharaoh rejected it and disobeyed (Moses). 21 Then he turned his back, striving. 22 So he gathered the people, and proclaimed. 23 then said: 'I am your lord, the most high' 24 So Allah seized him with the punishment of the Everlasting Life, and of this world. 25 Verily in this is an instructive warning for whosoever feareth (Allah). 26
