Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ WHEN THE SKY is cleft asunder, 1 And when the stars have fallen and scattered; 2 when the seas overflow; 3 when the tombs are overthrown, 4 then a soul shall know its works, the former and the latter. 5 O mankind, what has deceived you concerning your Lord, the Generous, 6 who created you, formed you and proportioned you? 7 Into whatever form He pleased He constituted you. 8 Nay! but you give the lie to the judgment day, 9 And yet, verily, there are ever-watchful forces over you, 10 Illustrious scribes 11 who know of all that you do. 12 Most surely the righteous are in bliss, 13 whereas, behold, the wicked will indeed be in a blazing fire 14 which they shall enter on the Day of Judgement, 15 And they (Al-Fujjar) will not be absent therefrom (i.e. will not go out from the Hell). 16 And what shall teach thee what is the Day of Doom? 17 Then, what can make you know what is the Day of Recompense? 18 It will be a Day when no human being shall be of the least avail to any other human being, God [alone] will hold command on that Day. 19
