The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the angels who drag forth vehemently. 1 And by those who gently draw out the souls of the blessed, 2 by those that swim serenely 3 And who quickly present themselves. 4 And who plan the implementation. 5 On the day when the first trumpet sound blasts 6 There will follow it the subsequent [one]. 7 Hearts that Day will be in agitation; 8 and their eyes shall be humbled. 9 (The disbelievers) say, "Shall we be brought back to life again 10 after we have become bones and dust?" 11 They say: Then that would be a vain proceeding. 12 It will be only one scaring shout, 13 And lo! they will be awakened. 14 Have you heard the story of Moses? 15 How his Lord called him in the holy vale of Tuwa, 16 (Saying:) Go thou unto Pharaoh - Lo! he hath rebelled - 17 And say to him: "Would you purify yourself (from the sin of disbelief by becoming a believer)", 18 that I might guide you to your Lord, so that you fear (Him)." 19 Then Moses (went to Pharaoh and) showed him the Great Sign; 20 but he denied it as false and disobeyed, 21 and hastily turned away, 22 Then he collected (his men) and made a proclamation, 23 and proclaimed, "I am your supreme Lord," 24 Wherefore Allah laid hold of him with the punishment of the Hereafter and of the present. 25 Surely in that is a lesson for him who fears! 26
