He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ (The Prophet (Peace be upon him)) frowned and turned away, 1 Because there came to him the blind man. 2 How could you know? Perhaps he would cleanse himself, 3 or have been reminded [of the truth,] and helped by this reminder. 4 As for he who is sufficed 5 To him do you address yourself. 6 though you will not be questioned even if he never purifies himself. 7 And he who comes to thee eagerly 8 and fearfully, 9 you pay no heed to him. 10 Nay! surely it is an admonishment. 11 So let him who pleases mind it. 12 On honourable pages. 13 lofty and pure, 14 In the hands of scribes (angels). 15 Noble and dutiful. 16 Accursed be man! How stubbornly he denies the Truth. 17 From what has God created him? 18 Out of a drop of sperm He creates him, and thereupon determines his nature, 19 Then made his passage easy (at birth); 20 Then He causes his death and provides a grave for him. 21 Then, when He willed, He brought him out. (As during the night of Holy Prophet’s ascension, when all the Prophets gathered behind him in the Al Aqsa mosque in Jerusalem. Or when Allah will raise everyone on the Day of Resurrection.) 22 By no means hath he fulfilled what Allah hath commanded him. 23 So man must look at his food. 24 That We pour down the water, pouring (it) down in abundance, 25 and let the earth to break open 26 and therein made the grains to grow 27 And grapes and fodder, 28 And olives and date palms, 29 And enclosed gardens luxuriant. 30 And fruits and herbage 31 (To be) a provision and benefit for you and your cattle. 32 When the trumpet sounds, 33 The day on which a man shall fly from his brother, 34 his mother, his father, 35 As well as his wife and children. 36 For every man, that Day, will be a matter adequate for him. 37 Some faces that Day, will be bright (true believers of Islamic Monotheism). 38 Laughing, rejoicing. 39 And [other] faces, that Day, will have upon them dust. 40 with darkness overspread: 41 those -- they are the unbelievers, the libertines. 42
Almighty God's Truth.
End of Surah: He Frowned ('Abasa). Sent down in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
