In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By those that pluck out vehemently 1 and those that draw out violently, 2 And by those who float in space, 3 and yet overtake [one another] with swift overtaking: 4 by those that direct an affair! 5 The day the convulsive first blast shatters convulsively 6 and will be followed by the second one, 7 Hearts will pound loudly on that day, 8 and their eyes shall be downcast with dread. 9 (Now) they are saying: Shall we really be restored to our first state 10 After having turned to carious bones?" 11 They say: Then that would be a vain proceeding. 12 So that is not but a single shout. 13 and they will be upon the surface of the earth (alive). 14 HAS THE STORY of Moses ever come within thy ken. 15 Recall what time his Lord called unto him in the holy vale of Tuwa. 16 "Go thou to Pharaoh for he has indeed transgressed all bounds: 17 And say: 'Would you like to grow in virtue? 18 Then I shall guide thee unto thy Lord so that thou shalt fear. 19 Then did (Moses) show him the Great Sign. 20 In response, he denied and disobeyed. 21 Then he turned away in a hurry, 22 So he gathered the people, and proclaimed. 23 And he said: I am your Lord, most high. 24 you pay attention 25 In this there is a lesson for those who have fear of God. 26
