The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the sky is rent asunder, 1 and obeys its Lord as it must, 2 and when the earth is leveled, 3 And casts forth what is within it and becomes (clean) empty, 4 And listens and obeys its Lord, and it must do so; 5 O man, having striven hard towards your Lord, you shall meet Him: 6 And he who is given his ledger in his right hand 7 shall have an easy reckoning 8 And he will turn to his people, rejoicing! 9 But whoso is given his account behind his back, 10 He shall call for perdition, 11 and he shall roast at a Blaze. 12 Indeed, he had [once] been among his people in happiness; 13 thinking he would never revert (to Us). 14 Yea indeed! His Sustainer did see all that was in him! 15 I swear by the glow of sunset, 16 by the night and all that it envelops; 17 by the moon, in its fullness 18 That you will climb from stage to stage. 19 What is the matter with them, that they believe not? 20 And when the Qur'an is recited to them, they do not prostrate [to Allah]? ۩ 21 No, the unbelievers only belie, 22 And Allah knows best what they hide, 23 So give them the good news of a painful chastisement, 24 except the righteously striving believers, who will receive a never-ending reward. 25
